As I Am 04:02
Carolina the black wind Is blowing through my sheets & we love like war torn children Or just dogs tugging at a leash And I am falling slowly From the stars back to the streets I'm a stranger in your arms again You were chasing soft dreams But they always got away Trying to tie your shoelace But your hands just shake & shake When all that you've forgotten Meets all that you forgave, of my mistakes Then a stranger's at the door again & you said... ooo Let me down easy ooo Let me down sweetly, If you can I think I need my head cleaned It's been dirtied up with debt And this constant fear of fear I've not confronted yet So I catch myself in circles My tongue waggin' like a fool And there's a stranger making all these rules I tell him... ooo Let me down easy ooo Let me down sweetly, I tell him, ooo You do not see me, As I am.

He hit the skies Moving slowly over lost days What love he'd find He'd carry with him like a dead weight She was on his mind A pretty picture in a busted frame Across the walls of time A promise, amidst a nameless fate The sun would rise Only to fall Catching shadows where the mountains, Stood too tall He once believed That he would climb But now I just sleep Come kiss my eyes I can't see you but I felt you, When you left my side And you once believed that we would survive Is there still time? Now there's a river between And to a broke heart, new love don't mean a thing It's come to make him mean And so much colder than he wants to be But don't quit now The worst is over, the man you want is close around And if you do fall down, These wings are heavy but they still can leave the ground The sun would rise Only to fall Catching shadows where the mountains, Stood too tall He once believed That he would climb But now I just sleep Come kiss my eyes I can't see you but I felt you, When you left my side And you once believed that we would survive And I once believed that I could make you mine I once believed that I could make you mine Darlin, I know there's still time.

It was a dark & stormy night I was making my way towards the light And somehow, someway, back to you I thought I had new kin A place that I belonged in Until they said, It was you or them So it seems I'm on the run again My feet over earth My hair to the wind Now it's not always plain to see But there's something different to me And the way I want the world I don't have to choose your side I won't be divided by your lines My heart still leads the way So it seems I'm on the run again My feet over earth My hair to the wind And I'm coming to meet you my friend No matter what they say No matter what they say.

Of Me & You 04:03
There's a wedding on the killing floor There's an order I can't ignore There's a fire burning slow & true I found the animal... In me and you Counter-clockwise & drugged again Confetti nightmares from one last binge You've come to see me as the palest blue But I'll force a fire... You never knew mmm I haven't thought of you in awhile Not your lips, not your smile Now you're walking down the aisle Towards another man I used to see you everywhere In strangers eyes, I sought your stare Till your color lost it's hue So I made a ghost... Of me & you mmm There's an island in the dark of man From the holy or unspoken plan And the mind can never know true I strike the heart.... Of me & you.

Break Me 03:17
I got pockets full of rain I got a head full of ghosts I got this ball & chain, I'm gonna drag coast to coast I got the moon in my skin Can you find it in my eyes? I've been so many people now, I'm laying down this disguise And I'm standing tall Against it all Try to break me Darkness rides on the wings A fixture in my time It held my head while I was bleeding out Across imaginary lines And I wore you like armor When the wolves were set loose The faithless cling to the altar Desperate for a truth But we're standing tall Against it all Try to break me There's a girl lost to wonder She keeps a lion beside her bed And she's been fucking up those nice boys Laying secrets in their heads Now she calls me by my name Like a junky to a fix It's been awhile she cries Slides a knife across my wrist So the curtain calls For my final fall Yeah the curtain calls It's my final fall Try to break me Try to break me.

Edge of Town 03:14
Take a little trip to the edge of town Take a bottle along, pass it around Take my headphones off, to hear the sound, Of a city burning bright I've been chasing highs like a helpless fool Found a limit to my logic, so I bend the rules Got to get to where I'm going before the morning, Makes my bed Cause I fell in love Then I had enough Guess I had enough... Took a long look in the corner mirror Saw my mother, saw my father, Then I reappeared I swear any weight, of their mistakes, Meant nothing to me then But I know how this ends, I've been here before I'd say all the right words, you'd come back for more I don't want to see you leave, but it just hurts you more So I'll keep it to myself Cause you fell in love Then you had enough Guess you had enough So I got tough Yeah, I got tough Now that's a bluff... Take a little trip to the edge of town Take a bottle along, pass it around Put my headphones on, succumb to the sound Just forget about her, Tonight.

Spend another night alone Boxed in by the rain and snow I only feel the Chicago cold When I lay without you Got some friend that I try to see... Something about our destinies If you believe that sort of thing We're in this together I broke my heart & I broke yours too Sadly that's not even new It's just something we learned to do When the clock runs over Oh, Take it away I can't feel this way again today And what was that you tried to say? I don't think I can love you Oh, Make it brand new Help me love like I used to When I gave all that I grew From the greenest gardens I wonder what you're doing now I know I said I'd figure my shit out... But all those words got lost somehow Everyday without you Now I just want to get away clean Dodge the wind that's been blowing through me But honey, this ain't a movie scene You know I'm... Bent beyond my back Oh, Take it away I can't feel this way again today And what was that you tried to say? I don't think I can love you Oh, Make it brand new Help me love like I used to When I gave all that I grew From the greenest gardens Spend another night alone Boxed in by the rain and snow The only question left to know... Does another lay with you?

What We Keep 03:14
A still light in the dark of night A new shadow to tame Every time I face myself So much has changed I step down to the rising rain All of time at my back And I need love, I need love Do you have any of that for me? Can you see? Honey, And could it be, That it was always you and me So many days left alone Lost to fire, blood and bone It's what you keep from a broken home And drag down the street I took it to another door Left it there on her kitchen floor She said hey, don't worry no more That's never the you, That I see Cause to me, It's beauty, Not tragedy, And honey, It was always you and me She said, Oh... I know you're gonna fly again Oh... I won't always be here when you land, But I am right now.

Love Waits 06:05
I was swayed by a mystery Exhaled a fevered dream A high I couldn't bare to keep A low I know too well I was falling I was I was falling in love or something else not far from yeah here’s my heart, beat the drum, beat the drum, beat the drum I’m seeing neon So cake my flesh in dirt and cloud And pull my teeth And throw me out Into that empty space Where love waits You were safe from the cold Lantern led and cautiously bold I wanna say they broke the mold But we’ve met before Back when the first summer knew That everything I saw would be you Yet all your colors on a curfew And my claws still white Now I’m content to take the blame Your eyes betray this language game And all these words add up the same I need to see you tonight I’m naked in neon So cake my flesh in dirt and cloud And pull my teeth And spit me out Spit me out Into that empty space Where love waits I’m seeing God So cut me loose or turn me on Turn me on And rise me up like holy dawn Like holy dawn Cut me loose or turn me on Cut me loose or turn me on Cut me loose or turn me on Honey won’t you fill this space? Where love waits.

I changed my name Then I changed my mind Then I fell in love one last time So I shook hands With my enemy I'll hold his breath for eternity Then I went under The weight of her stare And love's a look you can't help but wear I'll face it soon In your room You can strip the color from these blues Now the moon just keeps me bleeding I think the stars are there for teasing, All this restless seeking I held you close Then I turned away I know I can't expect you to stay But faithfully, I was yours Lost to time I don't need you here to know you were mine My lungs are full Of foreign air And the dark I chose always takes the dare So I'll be coming now On a pilgrims whim And I'll trade my breath for your kiss again Now the moon just keeps it beating I think the stars are finally leading, From all this restless seeking.

Waiting in the wings Another broken thing If you say run honey I’ll fly this thing Bottomed out the ballroom Crushed every can Spent my last dollar on something I can’t stand You said you’re gonna go Now you wanna stay What’s one more night, what’s one more day? You got me up and down You got me spun around You got me telling fibs to that sad old clown Picturesque as poison Promise of the town Pulling all the punches till my feet leave the ground I said I’m gonna go You said you wanna stay? I said what’s one more night, what’s one more day? You said I’m old news I feigned confused You said aren’t I pretty I said yeah, but aren’t I too? she said honey I’m feeling low and blue... I said yeah, I guess I am too. Waiting in the wings A kite without a string If you say move, honey I’ll fly this thing Buried in the basement Got a ghost upstairs Looking for a mirror that doesn’t stare You said you’re gonna go I said it’s time to stay What’s one more night, what’s one more day? Baby, what’s one more night, one more day.

about

This album is the accumulation of the past decade of playing out frequently, collaborating & creating with conviction, and examining the dirt under my fingernails.
These are songs about relationships, addiction, and an effort towards genuine self-understanding & worth. My whole silly heart is in this project, this feels like me...as of now.

I want to thank Daniel Robbins for all of his time, energy, and of course talent as both a producer & musician. This album would not have been possible without his friendship and commitment to helping my songs come to life in studio.

Thank you to Xiomara Hussein for lending your photographers eye to the album cover, and letting me commandeer your painting for my own sinister purposes.

Thank you all for listening & supporting, enjoy the music.
