Of Me & You

from Confetti // Collision by Eric Quigley

/

about

This is the first tune off of Confetti // Collision I wanted to share. There are catchier songs on the album, but this one just has a mood to it.

I know I liked this tune when I wrote it 2 years back, but it's one of those rare songs that has grown with me and not against me. It's strikes the balance of being deceptively sad, and more so subtly self affirming...which is a perspective I tend to gravitate towards in other artists/songs I love. It's not naïve, but it's not without hope either.

Enjoy, thanks for the support.

lyrics

There's a wedding on the killing floor
There's an order I can't ignore
There's a fire burning slow & true
I found the animal...
In me and you

Counter-clockwise & drugged again
Confetti nightmares from one last binge
You've come to see me as the palest blue
But I'll force a fire...
You never knew

mmm

I haven't thought of you in awhile
Not your lips, not your smile
Now you're walking down the aisle
Towards another man

I used to see you everywhere
In strangers eyes, I sought your stare
Till your color lost it's hue
So I made a ghost...
Of me & you

mmm

There's an island in the dark of man
From the holy or unspoken plan
And the mind can never know true
I strike the heart....
Of me & you.
