about

Wrote this song based off of a short story by a young lady named Molly. Her story was about a boy getting swept up in a wolf pack...and then being faced with the decision to go back to his human family or remain in the wild. It reminded me slightly of 'Where the Wild Things Are', which I read religiously growing up. These two influences inspired the melody/lyrics.

lyrics

It was a dark & stormy night
I was making my way towards the light
And somehow, someway, back to you

I thought I had new kin
A place that I belonged in
Until they said,
It was you or them

So it seems I'm on the run again
My feet over earth
My hair to the wind

Now it's not always plain to see
But there's something different to me
And the way I want the world

I don't have to choose your side
I won't be divided by your lines
My heart still leads the way

So it seems I'm on the run again
My feet over earth
My hair to the wind
And I'm coming to meet you my friend

No matter what they say
No matter what they say.
